Southern California Edison terminates deals for 2-MW solar project

Southern California Edison (SCE) on Jan. 27 filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission notices of cancellation for a Small Generator Interconnection Agreement (SGIA) and a Service Agreement for Wholesale Distribution Service with Adelanto Greenworks B LLC.

The SGIA covered interconnection of a 2-MW facility named the Adelanto Greenworks B Project, while the other agreement set forth SCE’s agreement to provide distribution service for the project’s generation. FERC had accepted these agreements last October. SCE noted: “On December 29, 2014, the Distribution Provider received an email from Interconnection Customer requesting termination of the SGIA and Service Agreement.”

Said the attached email: “We have not been able to obtain a [power purchase agreement] on the project, due in large part to the program rules of Re‐Mat not allowing adjacent projects to have the same ownership. Thank you to you and the SCE team that worked on the project to date. We look forward to continue working on the more viable projects in our portfolio.” The email is from Adam Foltz, Director of Interconnection and Transmission at Sustainable Power Group.

The contact information is: Adelanto Greenworks B LLC, Adam Foltz, 2 Embarcadero Center, Suite 410, San Francisco, CA 94111, Phone: 415-692-7578, Fax: 415-362-4001.
