Recurrent Energy files notices on 260 MW of California solar projects

Two affiliates of Recurrent Energy LLC filed on Jan. 9 notices at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission notices of their status as exempt wholesale generators related to two major solar projects in California.

RE Barren Ridge 1 LLC filed with respect to its ownership and operation of an approximately 60 MW-solar photovoltaic facility and related assets located in Kern County, California, which is within the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) balancing authority area. Barren Ridge anticipates that the facility will commence commercial operation by Dec. 31, 2015.

The facility will be interconnected to the distribution system owned by Southern California Edison (SCE) and all of the output will be sold exclusively at wholesale pursuant to a 20-year power purchase agreement with The City of Los Angeles acting by and through the Department of Water and Power.

Barren Ridge is wholly owned by Recurrent Energy Development Holdings LLC, whose membership interests are, in turn, wholly owned by Recurrent Energy LLC. Recurrent’s principal place of business is in San Francisco, California.

Filing the other EWG notice was RE Tranquillity LLC, related to its ownership and operation of an approximately 200-MW solar photovoltaic facility and related assets located in Fresno County, California, which is within the California Independent System Operator balancing authority area. 

Tranquillity anticipates that the facility will commence commercial operation by Sept. 30, 2016. The facility will be interconnected to the transmission system owned by Pacific Gas and Electric. Commencing Dec. 1, 2019, all of the output from the facility will be sold exclusively at wholesale pursuant to a 15-year power purchase agreement with Southern California Edison.

Tranquillity is wholly owned by RE Tranquillity Holdings LLC, whose membership interests are, in turn, wholly owned by Recurrent Energy Development Holdings LLC, whose membership interests are, in turn, wholly owned by Recurrent Energy LLC.
