North Star Solar PV LLC told the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission on Jan. 9 that it plans to file a site permit application for a 100-MW solar project to be constructed in Chisago County, Minnesota, to be called the North Star Solar Project.
The project was proposed to Northern States Power d/b/a Xcel Energy in response to Xcel’s 2014 Solar Resource Solicitation on June 20, 2014, and selected as part of the Preferred Portfolio. The North Star Solar Project will generate electricity from solar energy and is therefore eligible for the alternative permitting process, as provided under 2014 Minnesota Session Laws, Chapter 254, Section 19, the company added.
As required by Minnesota rules, the company is notifying the commission of its intent to submit a site permit application under the alternative permitting procedure. North Star Solar said it anticipates filing the site permit application in January 2015.
The notice is on the letterhead of Community Energy Solar and is from Eric Blank, the manager of North Star Solar. Contact information for the company is: phone 610-230-0345, www.CommunityEnergySolar.com.
