MidAmerican unit registers 300-MW Texas wind project

TX Jumbo Road Wind LLC on Jan. 9 filed with the Texas Public Utility Commission a registration as a power generator related to its 300-MW wind project in Castro and Deaf Smith counties, Texas.

The project will be interconnected to the transmission system owned by Sharyland Utilities LP and operated by the Electric Reliability Council of Texas. The facility is expected to begin generating test energy around now. The entire output of the facility is committed to the City of Austin d/b/a Austin Energy under a long-term power purchase agreement.

Jumbo Road is an indirect, wholly owned subsidiary of MidAmerican Renewables LLC, which is a direct, wholly-owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Energy.
