Logan’s Gap Wind registers 200-MW project in Texas

Logan’s Gap Wind LLC, which is developing a 200-MW wind project, filed a Jan. 8 registration statement with the Texas Public Utility Commission as an electricity generator.

The company said it is a subsidiary of Logan’s Gap Holdings LLC and affiliated with Pattern Gulf Wind LLC, Pattern Panhandle Wind LLC and Pattern Panhandle Wind 2 LLC. The wind facility would be located in Comanche County and interconnect with Oncor, which is in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas region.

Pattern Energy Group LP (known as “Pattern Development”) announced in August 2014 that it had acquired the Logan’s Gap wind project irom Pioneer Green EnergyPioneer Green Energy began work of a significant nature in 2013 and executed a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Wal-Mart Stores for about 60% of the project’s expected production. The project is expected to begin commercial operation in late 2015.
