Iberdrola’s Baffin Wind project in Texas close to commercial operation

Baffin Wind LLC filed on Jan. 8 at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission a notice of self-certification of exempt wholesale generator status based on its ownership and operation of an approximately 201-MW wind facility located in Kennedy County, Texas.

The company is a direct, wholly-owned subsidiary of Iberdrola Renewables LLC. Its 201-MW facility is located within the Electric Reliability Council of Texas footprint. The company expects it to be in commercial operation in the first quarter of 2015, with an interconnect with transmission facilities owned by American Electric Power Service Corp. and managed by ERCOT.
