FERC accepts interconnect deal for 175-MW Illinois wind project

PJM Interconnection was sent a Jan. 5 letter by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission accepting PJM’s November 2014 filing of an executed interconnection service agreement with Kelly Creek Wind Farm LLC and transmission owner Commonwealth Edison for a 175-MW wind project in Illinois.

The Kelly Creek Wind Farm ISA facilitates the interconnection at the Kempton Wind Farm to the PJM transmission system of an additional 175 MW at a generating facility located in Kankakee, Iroquois and Ford counties, Illinois. The new facility will consist of 116 General Electric 1.5 MW SLE Wind Turbines.

On or before Dec. 1, 2016, Kelly Creek Wind Farm must demonstrate commercial operation of 58 generating units, and then on or before Dec. 31, 2016, it must demonstrate commercial operation of 58 additional generating units.
