PJM reaches wholesale deal for 20-MW solar project in Virginia

PJM Interconnection filed on Dec. 11 at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission an executed Wholesale Market Participation Agreement with Hecate Energy Clarke County LLC and transmission owner Potomac Edison.

“PJM is submitting this Agreement for filing because Hecate intends to engage in wholesale sales in the PJM markets from a generating facility connected to PE’s distribution facilities,” said the filing.

The deal covers the Double Tollgate Solar Project, located at the northeast corner of Double Tollgate Road and Hwy 522, Clarke County, Virginia. This is a 20-MW facility consisting of multiple photovoltaic solar panel arrays, collection system and associated transformation equipment.

Under this agreement, on or before Feb. 28, 2015, Hecate must demonstrate commercial operation of all generating units.

A project contact is: Preston Schultz, Hecate Energy Clarke County LLC, 115 Rosa Parks Blvd., Nashville, TN 37203.
