PJM files wholesale revision for 17-MW New Jersey solar project

PJM Interconnection filed on Dec. 16 at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission an executed Wholesale Market Participation Agreement with Raritan Solar W3-029 LLC and transmission owner Jersey Central Power & Light for a 17-MW solar project.

“PJM is submitting this WMPA for filing because Raritan intends to engage in wholesale sales in the PJM markets from a generating facility connected to JCPL’s distribution facilities,” the filing said.

This new WMPA replaces an old one from January 2012. Under the new and old deals, on or before Sept. 1, 2014, Raritan must demonstrate commercial operation of all generating units.

This deal covers the Ringoes Solar Farm, located at 33 Highway 202, Ringoes, New Jersey. This 17-MW project consists of photovoltaic solar panels connected to 250-kW inverters. Groups of four inverters are connected to one of seventeen 480V/34.5kV step up transformers.

A project contact is: Raritan Solar W3-029 LLC, 12 Wynwood Drive, West Windsor, NJ 08550. Attn: William Xu.
