St. Paul, Minnesota – The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission has announced that Dan Wolf has been appointed to serve as the Commission’s next Executive Secretary, replacing Burl Haar, who is retiring after 21 years in the position.
Mr. Wolf joined the Public Utilities Commission five years ago as the Assistant Executive Secretary following a successful career on staff with the Minnesota Senate. Announcing the appointment, Beverly Jones Heydinger, Chair of the Commission, called Mr. Wolf a “great asset – highly regarded by the Commission’s staff, stakeholders, other agencies and the Legislature for his professionalism, calm demeanor, impeccable integrity and knowledge of public utilities regulation and state government.”
The Public Utilities Commission regulates the state’s investor-owned gas and electric utilities to assure reliable, efficient service at a fair and reasonable price, consistent with the state’s environmental goals and has limited authority over telephone service. Mr. Wolf will assume his new position on January 6, 2015.
