FERC accepts wholesale deal for 20-MW gas project in Pennsylvania

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on Dec. 11 accepted a Nov. 13 filing by PJM Interconnection of an executed Wholesale Market Participation Agreement for a 19.9-MW, gas-fired power project in Pennsylvania.

The agreement, for a project that is in the PJM queue as #Y3-109, is with project developer IMG Midstream LLC and transmission owner West Penn PowerThis agreement covers the Red Glen Generator project, located at 1084 Western Avenue, Hickory, Pa. The 19.9-MW project will consist of five gas-fired generators connected to a single 13-kV substation.

Under the agreement, on or before Dec. 31, 2016, IMG Midstream must demonstrate commercial operation of all generating units.

General Electric’s (NYSE: GE) Distributed Power business will provide its Jenbacher gas engine technology to IMG Midstream for two 20-MW projects in Pennsylvania, said GE in an Aug. 13 announcement. These projects will use existing natural gas and electric infrastructure, GE noted.
