FERC accepts interconnect deal for 89-MW Nebraska wind project

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on Dec. 17 accepted the Southwest Power Pool‘s Oct. 28 filing of a revised Generator Interconnection Agreement with Cottonwood Wind Project LLC and interconnecting transmission owner Nebraska Public Power District.

This third revised Cottonwood GIA modifies and supersedes a prior GIA between the parties. Cottonwood plans to construct an 89.48-MW wind facility consisting of 48 General Electric 1.715-MW wind turbines and four General Electric 1.79-MW wind turbines. The parties recently agreed to modify the number and type of turbines. The targeted commercial operation date for the project is Dec. 1, 2015.

The Point of Interconnection for this wind capacity is the new NPPD Rosemont 115-kV substation to be located on the Pauline-Guide Rock 115-kV transmission line.
