Company seeks permit on new gas-fired plant in Texas

Rockwood Energy Center LLC has applied to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) for a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) permit for a power plant located at the intersection of CR 111 and CR 116, approximately 5 miles northwest of Garwood in Colorado County.

A TCEQ notice about the application, issued Dec. 12, didn’t provide further project details. The Dec. 5 application for this permit is not available on-line.

A July 22 article in the Colorado County Citizen, which quoted Tundermann, said that Lincoln Clean Energy had recently announced a proposed natural gas-fired power plant with an open house and information event in Eagle Lake.
