Cline Group completes buy of 75% of Donkin coal project in Canada

Morien Resources Corp. (TSX VENTURE: MOX) said Dec. 3 that international commodities company Glencore PLC has completed the sale of its 75% interest in the Donkin Coal Project in Nova Scotia to Kameron Collieries ULC, a subsidiary of the U.S.-based The Cline Group LLC.

Morien, holder of a 25% interest in Donkin, said it looks forward to seeing the Donkin underground coal mine project advance under this new arrangement with Kameron. Cline Group was founded by coal operator Chris Cline, who also founded Illinois coal producer Foresight Energy, which went public in an IPO earlier this year.

Morien Resources is a Canadian mining exploration and development company which holds a 25% interest in the Donkin Coal Project and non-operating royalty interests in two other projects, one in production and the other in the development stage. The Donkin project on Cape Breton Island has received environmental assessment approvals from the federal and provincial governments and is located within 30 kilometers of a deep water port in Sydney, Nova Scotia.
