Renewable energy developer RES Group announced Oct. 2 the appointment of Glen Davis as Chief Executive Officer of RES Americas.
Davis has served as RES Americas’ Chief Commercial Officer since September 2013 and previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Agile Energy. Among his priorities as CEO, Davis will focus on advancing RES Americas’ growth as a leading developer, constructor and operator of wind, solar, transmission and energy storage projects. Davis has also been named to the executive board of RES Group.
Over the course of his 29 years as an energy executive, Davis has demonstrated experience in implementing strategies and capturing opportunities, which he will apply to continue to grow RES Americas’ market share, further increase the company’s revenue and profit, and expand into new markets, the company said.
Susan Reilly will continue as President of RES Americas, representing the company on a number of industry boards, including as the Chair of the Board of the American Wind Energy Association, and other important strategic initiatives to reduce carbon emissions and further the deployment of renewable energy in the United States.
Dr. Ian Mays MBE, CEO of RES Group stated: “We are delighted to announce Glen’s appointment to the role of CEO of RES Americas to lead our growing business in renewable energy and enabling technologies in the region. We would also like to thank Susan Reilly, who stepped down from the CEO position in May to focus on external-facing activities, for her significant contributions to the company and the industry over the past four years.”
Davis spent the first 18 years of his energy career with AES Corp. (NYSE: AES), helping build it into one of the leading global independent power producers. At AES, he led the development, financing, acquisition, and sale of power generating projects on four continents.
