Pine Gate Holdings seeks approval for N.C. solar projects

Pine Gate Holdings LLC on July 31 filed multiple registration statements with the North Carolina Utilities Commission for solar projects of around 5 MW in size.

  • One of them is the St. Pauls Solar 1 facility, which will be a 4.998-MW (ac) solar photovoltaic farm. There will be multiple ground-mounted racks providing electricity to the power grid. The project location is NC 301 Highway, St. Pauls, N.C., which is in Robeson County. The project is due for operation by Dec. 1, 2015, and would sell power to Duke Energy Progress.
  • There is also the LaGrange Solar 1 facility, consisting of a 4.998-MW (ac) photovoltaic farm at 50 Jason Road, LaGrange, N.C., which is in Greene County. This project is also due for operation by Dec. 1, 2015, and would sell power to Duke Energy Progress.
  • LaGrange Solar 2 is a 4.998-MW (ac) solar photovoltaic farm to be located on Rag Road at LaGrange in Greene County. It is also due for operation by Dec. 1, 2015, and would sell power to Duke Energy Progress.
  • St. Pauls Solar 3 is a 4.998-MW (ac) solar photovoltaic project to located at NC 301 Highway at St. Pauls in Robeson County. Duke Energy Progress is the intended customer and Dec. 1, 2015, is the targeted operation date.
  • The Nash 97 Solar facility consists of a 4.998-MW (ac) photovoltaic array and would be located on Highway 97 at Middlesex in Nash County, N.C. It would also sell power to Duke Energy Progress and be operating by Dec. 1, 2015.
  • Cline Solar is a 4.998-MW (ac) solar photovoltaic solar farm to be located on Cline Park Dr. in Hildebran in Burke County. It would be operating by Dec. 1, 2015, and sell power to Duke Energy Carolinas.

There were also a series of registration filings on Aug. 1.

  • The ZV Solar 2 project is a 4.998-MW (ac) photovoltaic array located at 40 Milk Dairy Road at Red Springs in Robeson County. The project would be operating by Dec. 1, 2015, and sell power to Duke Energy Progress.
  • The Maxton Solar project would consist of a 4.998-MW (ac) solar photovoltaic array located at 425 Elrod Rd. at Maxton in Robeson County. The project is due for operation by Dec. 1, 2015, and would supply Duke Energy Progress.
  • The Vance Solar 1 project would consist of a 4.998-MW (ac) solar photovoltaic array located at 5501 Raleigh Road at Kittrell in Vance County. The project is due for operation by Dec. 1, 2015, and would supply Duke Energy Progress.
  • Saxapahaw Solar is located at 5830 Swepsonville Saxapahaw Road at Graham in Alamance County. This Aug. 1 filing covers a 4.998-MW (ac) solar photovoltaic array. The project is due for operation by Dec. 1, 2015, and would supply Duke Energy Carolinas.
  • Laurel Hill Solar is a 3.998-MW (ac) solar photovoltaic project at 17008 Springs Mill Rd. at Laurinburg in Scotland County. The Aug. 1 filing says this project is due for operation by Dec. 1, 2015, and would supply Duke Energy Progress.
  • Bizzell Church Solar 3 is a 4.998-MW (ac) solar photovoltaic project to located at 1456 Bizzell Grove Church Road at Selma in Johnston County. This project is due for operation by Dec. 1, 2015, and would supply Duke Energy Progress.
  • Oxford Solar 1 is a 4.998-MW (ac) solar photovoltaic project at 6622 NC Highway 96 at Oxford in Granville County. This project is due for operation by Dec. 1, 2015, and would supply Duke Energy Progress.
  • Oxford Solar 2 is a 4.998-MW (ac) solar photovoltaic project at 6622 NC Highway 96 in Oxford in Granville County. The Aug. 1 filing says this project is due for operation by Dec. 1, 2015, and would supply Duke Energy Progress.
  • Vass Solar 1 is a 4.998-MW (ac) solar photovoltaic array to be located at 423 Morrison Bridge Rd. at Vass in Moore County. This project is due for operation by Dec. 1, 2015, and would supply Duke Energy Progress.
  • Creech Solar is a 3.5-MW (ac) solar photovoltaic project at 1509 Creech Road at Garner in Wake County. The Aug. 1 filing says this project is due for operation by Dec. 1, 2015, and would supply Duke Energy Progress.
  • Germantown Solar is a 4.998-MW (ac) solar photovoltaic project at 2061 NC Highway 65 E at Rural Hall in Forsyth County. This project is due for operation by Dec. 1, 2015, and would supply Duke Energy Carolinas.
