Cypress Creek affiliate pursues another N.C. solar project

Moore Solar LLC applied Aug. 20 at the North Carolina Utilities Commission for a certificate of public convenience and necessity on a solar photovoltaic installation with a nameplate size of 4.99 MW (ac).

The facility would be located off of NC Highway 158 near the intersection with Monroeton Road at Reidsville in Rockingham County, N.C.

The projected cost of the facility is about $12m. The projected date for it come on line is June 15, 2015. The applicant intends to sell the electricity produced to Duke Energy Progress under the CSP-29 tariff.

Cypress Creek Renewables is also behind Meadowbrook Solar LLC, which filed an Aug. 18 application with the North Carolina commission for a certificate of public convenience and necessity on a 4.99 MW (ac) project in Rowan County, N.C.
