Tropical Storm Arthur is expected to slowly drift northwest overnight before turning north on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
A steady strengthening is forecast, with Arthur likely to achieve hurricane strength on Thursday as it approaches the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
It’s going to be a hot day for much of the East Coast. A high temperature of 96 degrees F is forecast for Philadelphia with 95 degrees in Baltimore. New York City should see a high of 92 degrees. Atlanta should also hit 92 degrees. Boston could also hit 90 degrees.
