Southern California Edison files Copper Mountain Solar 2 deal

Southern California Edison on July 23 filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission an Affected Participating Transmission Owner Upgrade Facilities Agreement with Copper Mountain Solar 2 LLC and the California Independent System Operator.

Copper Mountain Solar 2 applied to the CAISO to interconnect its proposed 155-MW solar photovoltaic facility named the CMS2 Project, located in Boulder City, Nevada. The CMS2 Project is interconnected at San Diego Gas and Electric’s Merchant 230-kV Switchyard. The power developer has entered into a large generator interconnection agreement for this project.

The facilities agreement has commercial operation dates of: Phase 1 (92 MW), Sept. 30, 2013; and Phase 2 (63 MW), March 31, 2015.
