North Carolina commission okays 5-MW Manning PV1 project

The North Carolina Utilities Commission on July 23 approved a Feb. 20 application from Fresh Air Energy II LLC for a certificate of public convenience and necessity for construction of a 5-MW (ac) solar photovoltaic facility.

The Manning PV1 project is located at 911 Manning Avenue at Elon in Alamance County, North Carolina. The applicant plans to sell the electricity generated by this facility to Duke Energy Carolinas LLC.

The application said the facility is projected to come online in July 2015.
