EIA Energy Price Snapshot July 14, 2014

Northern California had the highest reported spot power price at $63.36/MWh, or 30% higher than the prior business day.

The Midwest had the lowest price at $41.62/MWh, or about 16% higher than the prior business day.

All 10 EIA regions posted an increase in spot power prices and all 10 regions posted a decrease in spot natural gas prices.

Regional spot natural gas prices ranged from $2.15/mmBtu in the Mid-Atlantic to $4.74/mmBtu in Northern California.

Nymex energy futures prices for August delivery of natural gas and coal were listed at $4.15/mmBtu and $60.62/ton respectively. Both gas and coal were up..
