Cenergy, Greenleaf-TNX commission Calif. solar project

Cenergy Power and Greenleaf-TNX Management announced July 24 that they have successfully commissioned a 1.8 MW (dc) solar facility in Cloverdale, Calif., known as the Cloverdale Solar project.

Greenleaf-TNX’s Cloverdale system was designed, engineered and constructed by Cenergy Power. Cenergy will also provide ongoing operations and maintenance (O&M) services to the site.

This marks another successful PG&E Feed-In Tariff (FiT) solar project between Greenleaf and Cenergy Power, the companies noted. Power generated by the Cloverdale Project will be sold to Pacific Gas and Electric under a 20 year Power Purchase Agreement.

Despite major obstacles with the wood landfill site in Sonoma County, the Cloverdale Project began construction in late 2013 and successfully achieved its “permission to operate” prior to an interconnection deadline in June 2014. “We were not allowed to grade the area or penetrate the landfill due to strict guidelines advanced by Sonoma County and the State of California,” said Andrew Goldin, Senior VP of Operations for Cenergy. “This added complexity to the Project’s engineering and interconnection requirements, which was overcome with creative solutions and a great team effort between Cenergy and Greenleaf.”

“Despite all the challenges confronting this Project, we are extremely pleased to have successfully commissioned another FiT project and continued our very good partnership with Cenergy Power” noted Charlie Fiechter, Partner at Greenleaf-TNX Management. “We are looking forward to commencing construction on an another upcoming FiT project together with Cenergy later this month.”

The Cloverdale Project is designed to generate over 2.7 million kilowatt hours of energy annually.

Greenleaf-TNX Management is a renewable energy asset management firm that both originates and finances renewable projects and owns and operates down-stream renewable energy assets.

Cenergy Power is a clean power solutions company comprised of seasoned power system professionals and financial experts focused on delivering unmatched value to commercial, agricultural and utility customers interested in solar photovoltaic solutions.
