Wister Power seeks permit on 6-MW Oklahoma hydro project

Wister Power LLC filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for a preliminary permit for the proposed, 6-MW Wister Lake Hydroelectric Project in LeFlore County, Okla.

The project, on an existing U.S. Corps of Engineers dam, will operate in a “run-of-river” mode and harness water that currently is released from Wister Lake. The project would include five inline generation units, each with a capacity of 1.2 MW, and with a total capacity of 6 MW.

The estimated average annual energy output is 16 GWh.
