Recurrent Energy unit seeks EWG status for 15-MW solar project

RE Columbia Two LLC, which is controlled by Recurrent Energy LLC, on Dec. 12 filed at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission a notice of self-certification of Exempt Wholesale Generator (EWG) status.

The filing is in respect to RE Columbia Two’s ownership and prospective operation of an approximately 15-MW solar photovoltaic facility and related assets located in Kern County, Calif., which is within the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) balancing authority area.

Columbia Two anticipates that the solar facility will commence commercial operation by Dec. 31, 2014. The facility will be interconnected to the distribution system owned by Southern California Edison and all of the output from the facility will be sold exclusively at wholesale under a 20-year power purchase agreement with the Southern California Public Power Authority.
