ColumbiaGrid on Oct. 22 announced that Patrick Damiano has been named President & CEO of ColumbiaGrid effective October 1, 2013. He had previously been serving as acting president and CEO since April.
“Over the past six months Patrick has demonstrated that he is the right person to lead ColumbiaGrid,” says ColumbiaGrid Board chairman Jim Miller; “Patrick’s background with the company and its members, combined with his skills and experience, is what we are looking for to lead ColumbiaGrid going forward. We will rely on his expertise as we transition through Order 1000, enhance our already stellar transmission planning work with an increased focus on production cost modeling, and continue to monitor efforts related to industry trends and restructuring.”
Mr. Damiano has over 25 years of experience in the electric power industry and began consulting for ColumbiaGrid shortly after its inception. He joined the company as a full-time employee in 2011. Prior to joining ColumbiaGrid, he ran his own consulting business and worked for two investor-owned utilities (both of which are ColumbiaGrid members), including an affiliated power marketing company of one of those utilities. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Washington State University. Mr. Damiano is married, with three adult daughters.
Chairman Miller added, “Together with existing Board members, Kris Mikkelsen, who was elected to the Board earlier this year, and Ed Sienkiewicz, who was re-elected to the Board in August, we now have a full slate of leadership at ColumbiaGrid.”
