Product Update: New Data and an Optimized Search Engine in GenerationHub

In response to customer feedback, PennWell Hub Services has recently deployed an improved search function. A simple keyword search now produces relevant results categorized as intelligence, documents, plants, and operating companies. With an ever-growing database of over 7,000 articles, 10,000 industry documents, 6,000 power plants and 3,000 operating utilities; the new categorized results feature will become an invaluable tool.

The new function is easy-to-use; after typing in your search keyword(s) with space between them (no commas) – simply navigate the results screen using the section tabs. The numbers represent how many of each result type were located. Click on any of the results to open them. “Intelligence” refers to our proprietary industry articles and our relevant news stories. The “Documents” tab is where you will find pertinent filings regarding rulings, investor presentations, maps and FERC forms. Our power plant profiles matching your search terms will be found under the “Plants” tab; and the “Operating Companies” section is where the utility profiles are located.  Open the link at the bottom of this page for a short video discussing the new navigation feature.

Additionally, GenerationHub has been updated with 2012 net generation data for power plants. Users can now access this dataset simply by navigating to the Data section of the product, or viewing it in any power plant profile. Further, users will find two brand new fields in these plant profiles: Average Heat Rate and Capacity Factor – key indicators of plant efficiency and operations.

Don’t hesitate to call us to set up a brief overview of the new enhancements.  We look forward to serving you.
