SoCal Edison works out interconnect for 20-MW solar project

Southern California Edison on Aug. 23 filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission a Small Generator Interconnection Agreement for a 20-MW solar project of Joshua Tree Solar Farm LLC, which is due for commercial operation by October 2015.

This is a 20-MW solar photovoltaic project, called the Joshua Tree Solar Farm, located at Sunfair, Calif. It would consist of photovoltaic panels, forty SMA SC 500CP 500 KW inverters, and twenty 1.0MVA 33 kV.270 V step-up transformers.

The point of receipt for this power is a tap on the Pinto 33 kV circuit out of the Hi-Desert 115/33 kV Substation. This is on the California Independent System Operator-controlled grid.
