
RE Columbia 3 LLC on Aug. 16 submitted to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission a notice of self-certification of Exempt Wholesale Generator (EWG) status for a 10-MW solar photovoltaic facility and related assets.
The solar project is located in Mojave, Calif., within the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) balancing authority area. Columbia 3 anticipates that the this owned and operated facility will commence commercial operation by Sept. 30, 2013. The Facility will be interconnected to the distribution system owned by Southern California Edison (SCE) and all of the output from the facility will be sold exclusively at wholesale pursuant to a 20-year power purchase agreement with SCE.
Columbia 3 is wholly owned by RE Columbia 3 Holdings LLC, whose membership interests are, in turn, wholly owned by Recurrent Energy Development Holdings LLC, whose membership interests are, in turn, wholly owned by Recurrent Energy LLC. Recurrent’s principle place of business is in San Francisco.
Also on Aug. 16, RE Columbia LLC submitted a separate EWG notice for an approximately 45-MW solar photovoltaic facility and related assets located in Kern County, Calif., which is also within the CAISO balancing authority area.
RE Columbia anticipates that this facility will commence commercial operation by July 28, 2015. The facility will be interconnected to the distribution system owned by SCE and all of its output will be sold exclusively at wholesale under a 20-year power purchase agreement with the California Department of Water Resources (CDWR).
RE Columbia is wholly owned by RE Columbia Interconnection Manager LLC, whose membership interests are, in turn, wholly owned by Monte Vista Solar LLC, whose membership interests are, in turn, wholly owned by RE Monte Vista Holdings LLC, whose membership interest are, in turn, wholly owned by Recurrent Energy Development Holdings, whose membership interests are, in turn, wholly owned by Recurrent Energy.
RE Yakima LLC also filed an Aug. 16 EWG notice, this time with respect to its ownership and operation of an approximately 20 MW solar photovoltaic facility and related assets located in Kern County, Calif., within the CAISO balancing authority area.
