Novinda introduces enhanced non-carbon reagent for mercury control

DENVER–(BUSINESS Wire)–Novinda, a leader in non-carbon mercury removal solutions, today announced an enhanced version of its reagent for mercury emissions capture, Amended Silicates® HgX.

AS® HgX delivers higher performance and improved economics for removing mercury from coal-fired power plant flue gas emissions.

In data from sustained long-term, full-scale power plant testing, AS® HgX delivered up to 60 percent greater performance to meet the same EPA Mercury & Air Toxics Standards (MATS) than Novinda’s first generation Amended Silicates® product – AS-022.

The Amended Silicates® platform, known for preserving the beneficial use of fly ash, having exceptional SO3 tolerance, being less corrosive to the balance of plant, and operating in a broad range of operating temperatures, delivers a robust performance across a variety of coal-fired power generation environments. The new AS® HgX product’s economics are extraordinary since it is commercially available at the same cost as Novinda’s first generation product.
