Northwestern issues RFP for Montana energy

Northwestern, which does business as Northwestern Energy (NYSE:NWE) is seeking bids on energy supply resources to serve its Montana Balancing Authority customers starting in 2014.

The company announced its request for proposals (RFP) on May 10.

It is seeking up to 100 MW of firm supply for the period of Jan. 1, 2015, through Dec. 31, 2017 at the Mid-Columbia trading hub (Mid-C) or on NorthWestern’s transmission system and up to 300 MW of firm supply for the period of July 1, 2014, through Dec. 31, 2014 on the NorthWestern system.

Draft confirmations are due May 22 with final bids due May 30. The RFP specifies that the submission deadline is 2 p.m. MDT on May 30 and the award notification is 4 p.m. MDT that same day.

NWE reserves the right to modify the proposed schedule.
