DULUTH — Minnesota Power will be hosting open house meetings to present route alternatives for the Great Northern Transmission line this week.
The meetings have begun and will continue to be held in communities throughout the line’s route until April 25.
Four meetings are planned for the region and will be held as follows:
- 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, at Bigfork City Hall
- 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, at Timber Lake Lodge in Grand Rapids
- 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday April 24, at the Taconite Community Center
- 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, at the Meadowlands Community Center.
Minnesota Power is working to gather input and provide information on its Great Northern Transmission line, which will deliver 250 megawatts of hydropower from Manitoba to Minnesota.
