Affiliated companies seek approval for 5 MW of Iowa wind projects

Optimum Wind 1 LLC and Optimum Wind 2 LLC applied April 16 at the Iowa Utilities Board for eligibility for the Iowa Renewable Energy Tax Credit.

Optimum Wind 1 LLC owns a 100% equity interest in its 2.5-MW facility. Optimum Wind 1 does not have any ownership interest in any other renewable energy facility. Its Turbine 1 will be located in Story County, northeast of Ames, Iowa.

The Optimum Wind 1 facility will be placed into service between Dec. 31, 2013, and Jan. 1, 2015. “Optimum Wind 1 LLC intends to sell all renewable energy to a generation utility company,” said the application.

The April 16 application from Optimum Wind 2 LLC is virtually identical to the application from Optimum Wind 1, including the same company contact information. Optimum Wind 2 owns 100% of the equity interest in its own planned 2.5-MW facility. Its Turbine 1 will also be located in Story County, northeast of Ames.

Its turbine would be placed in service between Dec. 31, 2013, and Jan. 1, 2015. “Optimum Wind 2 LLC intends to sell all renewable energy to a generation utility company,” the application said.
