PSE&G to upgrade underground electric transmission circuit

NEWARK–Public Service Electric & Gas Co. (PSE&G), New Jersey’s largest utility, is upgrading and replacing an underground electric transmission circuit in Union and Essex counties.

The circuit, which runs through Newark, connects the utility’s Bayway Switching Station in Elizabeth to its Doremus Place Substation in Hillside. Construction activities along the 5.7-mile circuit will be completed between early September and December, with the majority of work occurring from September to November. The purpose of this infrastructure upgrade is to continue to ensure safe, reliable utility service for area residents and business owners. During this period, utility service to PSE&G customers will continue as usual.
