Puget Sound Energy (PSE) will hold two open houses to discuss the recommended preferred route for Sammamish-Juanita transmission line.
The open houses will be held in Kirkland, Wash., on Aug. 21, and in Redmond, Wash., on Aug. 22.
PSE plans to construct about 4.5 miles of 115-kV transmission line from the Sammamish substation in Redmond to or near the existing Juanita substation in Kirkland. The company has not yet determined the specific route of the line.
On July 18, the stakeholder advisory group identified its preferred route for the new 115-kV transmission line, recommending that PSE combine the Route Alternative 1 west of Interstate 405 and Route Alternative 3 east of Interstate 405.
During the open houses, the public will be able to discuss the project, view the recommended preferred route and provide feedback, according to the company.
PSE intends to finalize the route late this summer. The company expects to begin construction of the transmission line as early as 2013.
PSE is a subsidiary of Puget Energy, which is a subsidiary of Puget Holdings LLC.
