(HONOLULU) – Hawaiian Electric Company will be making improvements to transmission structures in the Koolau Mountains behind Manoa, St. Louis Heights and Palolo. The work is part of the company’s effort to modernize Oahu’s electric system and improve service reliability to the Honolulu area.
The project involves replacing six existing aluminum transmission structures with upgraded steel structures. These structures support lines which carry power across the mountains.
