NYISO reaches agreement with regional energy agency

North Greenbush — The New York Independent System Operator, the North Greenbush nonprofit agency that oversees the state’s high-voltage electrical transmission system and wholesale electric markets, has reached an agreement with the agency that oversees the electrical system in a region that includes New Jersey, Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania and northern Illinois to make energy transactions between neighboring states happen more often.

The agreement is with what is known as the PJM Interconnection, a group similar to the NYISO.
