Coal producer Cloud Peak Energy names new Treasurer

Wyoming-based Cloud Peak Energy Inc. (NYSE:CLD), one of the largest U.S. coal producers, said May 9 that Girish Hemrajani has joined the company as Vice President and Treasurer.

Hemrajani has over 20 years’ experience in treasury, finance and accounting and was most recently Vice President and Treasurer at ION Geophysical Corp., a NYSE-listed global seismic solutions company based in Houston. He has extensive international experience, including Asian joint venture structuring and acquisitions and has worked for public corporations in the energy, manufacturing and consumer products industries.

“I am extremely pleased that Girish is joining the Cloud Peak Energy team,” said Michael Barrett, Cloud Peak’s CFO. “He brings great skills and experience as we continue to invest in the future of the company.”

Cloud Peak specializes in the production of low sulfur, sub-bituminous coal. The company owns and operates three surface coal mines in the Powder River Basin, the lowest-cost major coal producing region in the nation. The Antelope and Cordero Rojo mines are located in Wyoming and the Spring Creek mine is located near Decker, Mont.
