The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners issued the following statement after the U.S. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee approved the nominations of former NARUC President Tony Clark of North Dakota and John Norris of Iowa to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
“On behalf of my State regulatory colleagues, I applaud the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee for quickly moving these nominations. Given his expertise in utility regulation, Tony Clark will be a welcomed addition at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. He will bring an important, consumer-focused perspective. In addition, Commissioner Norris has long been a friend of NARUC, first during his time on the Iowa Utilities Board and now in his tenure at FERC. We urge the full Senate to act quickly and approve these nominations.”
