In addition to an open house planned for tonight to discuss its 2011 assessment of the Peach Bottom nuclear power plant, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will provide a formal opportunity for any member of the public who would like to offer comments or ask questions to do so.
The open house set for tonight will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Peach Bottom Inn, at 6085 Delta Road in Delta, Pa. Members of the public will have an opportunity during the open house to learn first-hand from NRC staff members about the plant’s safety performance during 2011 and the NRC’s oversight of the facility. It will be followed by a more traditional public comment session which will get under way at 7 p.m. at the same location.
Peach Bottom, which is the site of two boiling-water reactors, is located in Delta (York County), Pa., and is owned and operated by Exelon Generation Co. LLC.
