Some Kingsmill residents are organizing in opposition to a proposed high-voltage power line across the James River.
Dominion Virginia Power announced recently it planned to string a 500-kilovolt line on nine towers over the river from Surry to Skiffes Creek. Opponents are concerned about their views and property values.
Residents have formed a “Save the James” task force. The group is backing a resolution of opposition it hopes the Board of Supervisors will adopt when it meets next week, organizer Alan Lutz said Tuesday.
