EverPower Wind Holdings acquired two projects for its wind portfolio, including the 150-MW Alta 6 wind farm near Tehachapi, Calif., slated be finished later this year.
EverPower acquired Alta 6 from Terra-Gen Power, an affiliate of ArcLight Capital Partners and Global Infrastructure Partners.
The project, EverPower’s first on the West Coast, comes with a 24-year fixed-price power purchase agreement with Southern California Edison for all of its output.
“We are extremely pleased to add Alta 6 to our portfolio,” said Jim Spencer, president and CEO of EverPower Wind Holdings. “Alta 6 is located in a region recognized as a premier wind resource in the California market. This purchase is an extension of our overall strategy of owning assets near attractive load centers such as the Northeast and West Coast.”
Ever power acquired the development rights to the 17.5-MW Mahanoy Mountain Wind Farm, a late-stage project being developed by Penn Wind, LLC. The wind farm is located in East Cameron Township, Northumberland County, Pa. The company said it hopes to begin construction as soon as possible but does not yet have a timetable.
Pittsburgh-based EverPower has most of its development portfolio in Pennsylvania. The 62.5-MW Highland Wind Farm and the 75-MW Highland North Wind Farm are in operation, while the 30-MW Patton Wind Project and the 140-MW Twin Ridges Wind Farm are under construction. To date, Ever Power has over 4,500 MW of wind power projects under development in seven states.
