Wolf Creek Generating Station operators returned the plant to service following a maintenance outage to repair equipment needed to transfer power to and from the plant.
On Jan. 13, Wolf Creek Generating Station automatically shut down because the plant had a fault in its electrical distribution system. The plant has remained offline since that time to address the issues that caused the power interruption and implement necessary corrective actions.
“We have an outstanding team of employees who have worked safely to bring the plant back online, and I appreciate their efforts,” said Matt Sunseri, president and chief executive officer.
“Safety is our highest priority at Wolf Creek, and the actions we have taken reflects that commitment to ourselves and those who live in the community.”
Plant officials expect the plant to reach 100 percent power later this week.
