Town hopes to keep tower of coal power

Rob Nymick lives just downwind of one the dirtiest coal-fired power plants in the country, but like many of his neighbors he hopes the 43-year-old plant can keep churning out electricity for several more decades.

Low natural gas prices and stricter environmental rules are prompting utilities to shut coal plants at an accelerating pace. Companies have announced more than 100 closures over the past two years.
