Rotterdam-Moreau line will provide critical back-up for area’s industry

A $64m electric transmission line being built by National Grid from Rotterdam to Moreau may be one of the most critical components of the New York Capital Region’s growing technology economy.

The 33-mile line is being built parallel to the existing high-voltage Spier-Rotterdam line that serves large parts of Saratoga County, including the $4.6bn GlobalFoundries computer chip factory near completion in Malta.
