Report: Japan shuts another nuke plant, left with only 1 reactor

Tokyo Electric Power Co. has switched off another nuclear reactor following the Fukushima disaster, Reuters reported March 26.

The company has shut down the No.6 reactor at its Kashiwazaki Kariwa plant for regular maintenance, according to the publication.

Japan has a total of 54 reactors. Following the closure of the Kashiwazaki Kariwa reactor, Japan is now left with only one operational reactor, Hokkaido Electric’s Tomari No.3, which is set to go offline on May 5 for maintenance, Reuters reported.
