The Alberta Securities Commission has set dates for public hearings into the Alberta transmission line projects, suspended earlier for review by the government.
The $4-billion high-volt-age direct-current (HVDC) power lines will stretch from Edmonton to Calgary and Brooks, and were approved by the government following a review in January and February.
The hearing on AltaLink’s Western Alberta Transmission Line application will start at 9 a.m. on June 11 in Red Deer. The project consists of four main components, including three major substations and 347 kilometres of HVDC lines connecting the stations.
