NARUC applauds Clark nomination to FERC

WASHINGTON—National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners President David Wright of South Carolina issued the following statement after President Obama nominated NARUC’s Immediate Past President Tony Clark of North Dakota to a seat on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission:

“On behalf of NARUC’s State commission members, I applaud the President for nominating Tony Clark to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Tony brings an important consumer perspective to the agency, having dedicated his professional career to public service at the State and local level. As NARUC President, Tony led the Association with a quiet, steadfast confidence while dealing with numerous important issues. His inclusive leadership resulted in decisive actions and strong results. I encourage the Senate to move quickly on his nomination. On a personal note, I hate to lose someone like Tony Clark to FERC because it will leave us with big shoes to fill, but I know the nation will be better off because of his service.”
